We have tried to make the user interface as straightforward as possible. Below is a summary of how to use each of the User options:
Here you fill in all relevant details for your story, such as the catchline, and reference details, and the media destinations to which you wish to send your text. Media destinations may be automatically input from our directory or entered manually. You have the option of reviewing your list of addresses with the 'View/Edit Address' button. Copy can either be typed in directly or you can browse your PC for a specific text file to be inserted.
o Use this page to prepare and transmit your images. This page allows photographers to:
-Add By-line, Caption and Copyright notices to images.
Note, if your file is already tagged then you have the option to transmit this information.
-Select media destinations from a directory or prepared broadcast lists.
-Add billing information.
-Select up to 4 JPEG images using the "Browse" button.
Similar to the 'File Copy' option, except that you don't have the option to review the addresses chosen and the image needs to be selected directly from your PC using the 'Browse' button.
This page lets you track delivery of submissions using different criteria, such as stories or pictures sent within the last few days or the last hour. Please note, to check specific submissions you will need the reference number which is given as confirmation of submission.
Here you can check for all stories, images or system messages that you have received.
Please note that it is not possible to cancel material that has been sent or in an active output queue. Using the submission reference number you can kill a story or image.
You can forward a story that you have already sent or one that was sent to you. You also have the opportunity to add destinations and make alterations to text. The forward feature is not currently supported for images.
This allows text to be sent in the original 'Newslink' format. Individuals should use the 'File Copy' option.
Unless you are familiar with the 'Newslink format' then you should use the 'File Copy' page for submitting text.
